SOUTH BETHANY BEACH PATROL
BEACH RULES FOR SOUTH BETHANY
South Bethany Residents welcome our summer guests. We would like you to enjoy your stay at our beach. Please follow our rules so our beach will continue to be a pleasurable experience for all.
Lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5:30 on weekends). We have excellent guards. Please listen to them.
Ask Lifeguards permission to play ball and obey Lifeguards in regard to ball playing. Ball playing is not allowed when beach is crowded.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach anytime from May 15 to October 15.
Please pick up after your pets. Dog waste bags are located on Ocean Drive and on the Route 1 walkway.
Fishing and surfing are only allowed before 9:00 AM and after 5:30 PM.
Sleeping on the beach is not permitted between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
Glass containers are not allowed on the beach.
Please do not launch or beach watercraft during lifeguard hours.
Fires are not allowed on the beach at any time.
Do not use inner tubes, plastic rings, life jackets, etc. for swimming.
Vehicles are not allowed on the beach.
Help us to restore our sand dunes. Use only the walkways to get to the beach. Walkways are located at the ends of N6th, N4th, N2nd, Division, S1st, S2nd, S3rd, S4th, S5th, S6th, S9th, Indian, Jamaica, Kewanee, and Logan.
Do not walk between houses to get to the beach and do not go under houses - this is trespassing.
Please pick up your cigarette and cigar butts – they are not biodegradable and account for the largest trash item on the Delaware beaches.
Digging in the sand is fun but please fill in your holes when you leave so people won’t trip and fall.
Please place your umbrellas back far enough so Lifeguards have an unobstructed view of the ocean in both directions.
Fireworks of all kinds are prohibited at all times.
